Education system in Georgia consists of 4 sub systems:

1. Early education and preschool education 
2. General education system 
3. Vocational education system 
4. Higher education system

Sub systems and respective qualifications are placed on 8 levels of National Qualification Framework, starting from the first -the lowest level and ending with eighth -the highest. Complexity of the education programs along with the diversity of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, progresses/increases vertically by the levels. National Qualification Framework defines the linkages and progression opportunities among the qualifications set on various levels.

Georgian National Qualification Framework is elaborated per requirements and principles given in European Qualification Framework, ensuring the  compliance and recognition of Georgian qualifications to European education system.
